Hey guys, just letting you know about some changes to the site that are now in effect.

First of all, I have redone the Member Section. Now membership will only have a place in the Forum, it will not carry over to the main site. I did not like the way WordPress handled members, so I decided I would not use it as a means of registering users anymore.

The old Forum, which used the BBPress Platform was getting really spammy (Over 4,000 Spam User accounts, and hundreds of spam posts). BBPress was nice because I could integrate it with WordPress, so that I could share users between the Forum and the GamerGlitch Main Site. I will miss this integration between the Forum and Main Site, however the new Forum is running on MyBB which is a lot better and more wholesome Forum Platform than BBPress. Many important features which were not present in BBPress (the Old Forum) such as Private Messaging and a Friends List are readily available in MyBB.

Unfortunately one result of removing the membership feature of the main site, and getting rid of the old Forum is that all the current accounts were lost. This means is you had an account at GamerGlitch.com in the past, it has been erased. You will have to register for a new account to log into the Forum.

Also, since there will be no membership feature for the main site, when you comment on posts you will have to do so with a Name/ Email Combination instead of using a username (for those of you who used to have accounts, if you didn’t have an account commenting will remain the same).

One more change to GamerGlitch.com is that we are now only displaying 15 Posts at a time Per Page. We use to have it so that when you visited a Category page, Call of Duty: Black Ops Glitches, for example, It would display the Most Recent Glitches, and then every single Black Ops Glitch in Alphabetical order below that. We found out that because in some sections we have over 100 glitches, it was causing a huge load on our server. This resulted in pages loading slow, and in our Host Temporarily taking GamerGlitch Down because of CPU Over-usage. Limiting each Category to 15 Posts, and Dividing the Posts between multiple pages Per Category will speed up GamerGlitch and keep the site from being Taken Down by out Host for Server Overloads.

We set it so that there are 15 Posts displayed Per Page, however, we are looking for Out Users’ Opinion on this Matter. For this reason we have created a Poll Here: Post Per Page Poll.

GamerGlitch.com Changes

So I noticed the site was loading a bit slow with the New Layout. I went back and addressed this issue by compressing files.
Also, I am in the process of reconfiguring the Forum to match the rest of the site, not that anyone ever uses the Forum.

New Glitch Format

You May Have Noticed (Probably not, though) that when Specific Level Glitches are Posted the Title Goes Something Like “Level” Glitches: “The Glitch”. This is because I am now designating every separate glitch on the site to its own page. In the past, all the Glitches from one level were out on a single Page. I am taking this action because some Pages in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Section have 5+ Glitches on a single page. All the Glitch videos on these pages cause the page to load slow which is an inconvenience, and one that I am trying to fix with this measure.

Small Changes in GamerGlitch

You may have noticed the rating system and Social Networking links have been removed. I am going about making small changes to the site to reduce the load on our host’s server so that GamerGlitch.com will not crash again in the future. I will be optimizing the site and hopefully after doing so I can bring these small plugins back to the site. As of now, if you are interested in Rating a Glitch then leave a comment, and if you feel the need to Share our site via a Social Networking Site submit our page manually.

You may have noticed GamerGlitch.com was down for a couple of hours. This is because with all the recent traffic GamerGlitch has been receiving, the site exceeded our Host’s Bandwidth Plan. However, GamerGlitch.com is back. If you experience any problems using the site please leave a comment on this post.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Patch

A patch was delivered for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 earlier this week (December 11th). Because of this, many of the glitches found on this site may no longer work. If you cannot get a glitch to work, and believe that the glitch has been patched, please leave a comment so that I can designate the Glitch Patched to alert other users.

I’m sure there will be plenty of Post Patch Glitches found, so everyone keep up the good work glitching, and enjoy the site.

I made a slight change to the layout and just realized it messed with the Glitching Archives so that it was very difficult to navigate. I just fixed this issue. I apologize for the inconvenience, and I’m sorry it took me so long to fix the problem. If you happen to run into any other problems please report them so that I can promptly address them.
