The weapon slide enaples you to slide as you pick up a weapon. Instead of having to stand in one place while going through the pick up animation you can take the animation on the go. This is a very helpful glitch as it allows you to pick up weapons qucikly and safely instead of having to stand still while enemies sneak even closer. It is also one of the simplest glitches to this day.
During the latest update the weapon slide, one of the most useful tactical glitch, in Gears of War was patched. However, a method released, even before the first Gears of War update stilll exists. Though this method is no where near as good, or as practical as the old method (LB+X), here it is (The tutorial)...
Pre-Note: You must be facing a wall, as this is more of a teleportation, than a sliding action
1) Run or Walk to the weapon you desire
2) Press X (to pick it up)
3) Quickly press the direction of the wall on the left analog stick and A quickly.
What this will do is make your character take cover on a wall, not really a slide, but a quicker way to pick up a weapon. Below is a video made by TinajeraNP of this glitch...

To perform this glitch just find a weapon to pick up and as you reach it press LB and X together while pressing the direction you wish to slide.
