Creating Lag

Many people have trouble performing Glitches, or providing glitch matches for friends, because they have too good of a connection. Since most online Glitches occur becasue of lag, I will provide this formal tutorial on how to lag up a connection. There are several ways to lag up a connection, here are a couple.

Method One: Using a Lag Switch or Standby Button

A Lag Switch (also known as a Lag Button, Magic Switch, or Magic Button) is a device that controls the ammount of data running through an Ethernet Cable. When the ammount of data passing through is constricted lag occurs. The same is with a Standby button which can be found on the top of a Modem or router. To use these devices you either flip the switch or press a button. If you don’t have a Standby Button present on your Modem or router, are wondering how to create a Standby button don’t be in shock, I will teach you.

Creating a Lag Switch (reeperfan) Youtube Video …

Creating a Lag Switch (from SocomGlitcher) Text Tutorial…

I Am Not Responisble For What You Do With Your Ethernet Cord

Tools Needed

You Need A Screwdriver, Scissors, Or Stripping Tool. Not Required, But Useful: Tape, and Some Kind Of Box To Mount Switch In

Any Kind Of Switch (Buy At Lowes, Home Depot )

You Can Buy A Cheap Switch At Home Depot, Lowes, RadioShack, Wal-Mart, And Other Simaler Stores. It Doesnt Have To Be A Ligt Switch. I’ve Used A Dimmer Switch Before, And I Could Adjust My Lag, But Id Did’nt Work Most Of The Time, So I’d Reccomend Not To!

Ethernet Cord, Have A Spare One Just In Case

You Can Get A Really Nice, Cheap Ethernet Cord At Game Stop. You Can Get Two 25′ Ethernet Cords, And A Connector To Connect Them Both, To Make One 50′ Cord. This All Comes In One Pack. You Can Also Get Them At Wal-Mart, Meijer, Circuit City, Best Buy, RadioShack, And Other Simaler Stores.

Get Some Kind Of Cutting Tool, And Cut Open The Insulation On The Cord. DO NOT CUT THE WIRES INSIDE OF IT!!

Now, There Are About 10 Mini-Wires In It, for Some People The Solid Orange Wire Doesnt Work, And If This Applies For You, Use The Solid Green Wire. If You Have A Router, Read The Instructions On The Bottom

There, Now You Have Succesfully Made A Majic Switch, Make Sure When Your Trying To Get Online, Thats Its Swtiched On! If It Doesn’t Work Very Well,Try A New Switch, Or Switch To The Opposite Color Wire, (GREEN, Or ORANGE) Or Just Simply Have A Friend Who Has A Good One Make One For You!

READ HERE IF YOU HAVE A ROUTER

If You Have A Router, Then The Majic Switch Might Not Work As Well, Some People Say That If You Do Have A Router, Then Hook The Switch From Your Modem To The Router, DON’T, This Only Confuses The Router. And It Will Screw Up Everything Hooked Up To The Router. Thats All! Have Fun Majic Killing!

If you do not feel like spending the time there are many places where you can but premade switches such as Ebay.

Method Two: Using Net Tools

Net Tools is a comprehensive set of host monitoring, network scanning, security, administration tools and much more, all with a highly intuitive user interface as quoted on there site. This tool can be downloadeed here. For security functionality Net Tools has a UDP Flooder Function. Using this UDP Flooder, which can be found going through Network Tools to UDP Flooder, can control how laggy you want to make a connection. You must set the IP 127.0.0.1 originally to 27.27.27.27 and then slide the bar at the bottom of the menu to create lag.
